Ghanaians have taken to social media to pay tribute to late fashion icon Virgil Abloh, who died unexpectedly on November 28th.
His death was announced on his official Instagram page. The statement released said he had been battling cancer privately for two years.
Virgil Abloh was the originator of Off-White and the Creative Director of Menswear for Louis Vuitton until his death.
He was born in Rockford, Illinois, on September 30, 1980, to Ghanaian immigrant parents.
Virgil was known for his unwavering support for the Kumerican movement and other local musicians.
He is survived by his wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, and his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh.

Virgil Abloh was born on September 30, 1980, Illinois USA to Ghanaian immigrant parents.
The artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear collection who doubled as the CEO of the Milan-based label Off-White originally hails from the Volta Region.
